Treatment of localised cutaneous hyperkeratosis.
Localised hyperkeratotic conditions with excessive desquamation and/or thick stratum corneum, such as callosities or tyloses, helomas or nails, seborrhoeic keratoses, hyperkeratotic warts, etc.
Hyperkeratosis consists of an increase in the thickness of the stratum corneum (the outermost layer of the skin) caused by an excessive cohesion of the horny cells or corneocytes.
Hyperkeratosis can present different locations and degrees of intensity.
It contains 25% salicylic acid in solution, together with adhesive patches to exert an occlusive effect and achieve a high-powered keratolytic action that helps to decarnatize the excessive horny layer in hyperkeratotic skin disorders by dissolving the intercellular cement that binds the horny scales together, thus making it easier for them to fall off.
25% salicylic acid.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Apply once a day before going to bed to localised hyperkeratotic areas.
Apply a small amount of the solution using the brush to the hyperkeratotic area, avoiding contact with the surrounding healthy skin.
Wait a few moments for it to dry (1-2 minutes), the appearance of a whitish layer indicates drying and then place the adhesive patch on top to achieve the desired occlusion effect.
If necessary, trim the patch to fit the size of the area to be treated.
Before reapplying the patch the following night, remove the patch and clean the area with a callus file or scraper to remove the exfoliated tissue (this is easier to do when the skin is softened after showering).
Leave the solution with the adhesive patch on overnight.
If you wish to enhance the action, the patch can be left on all day.
This process is repeated daily until the localised hyperkeratosis is eliminated.
If for any reason (shower, change of footwear, etc.) the patch comes off or is displaced, replace it or replace it with a new one.
There is usually a noticeable improvement during the first few days of treatment, and complete resolution can be expected after 3-6 weeks of treatment.
